On this Roasters Guild & Specialty Coffee Association Origin Trip to Brazil, you'll learn different aspects of the coffee supply chain and get a look at some of the most cutting edge coffee production techniques in Brazil. With the chance to visit small, medium, and large farms and co-ops, you will get a great taste of the coffee culture in this remarkable country.

At the same time Belo Horizonte is hosting International Coffee Week (ICW) which offers a unique look into the coffee culture in the largest coffee producing state in Brazil. ICW is also host to this years World Coffee in Good Spirits, World Brewers Cup, World Latte Art, and World Cup Tasters Championships. This trip will begin with two days spent at ICW. You will be able to attend ICW events outlined in the program and will have the option to attend workshops or the sustainability conference at a discounted rate. More details will be coming on that soon. We hope you'll join us for this one-of-a-kind opportunity.

Origin trip to Brazil pricing is dependent upon membership type and the registration period. Your pricing will be automatically determined during the registration process based on your membership type.

IMPORTANT: If you are employed at a member company, you may be eligible for a complimentary individual membership that you can use to receive guild pricing. Read more about it here and contact with any questions.

Early Bird Registration Period: September 1, 2018 - September 30, 2018
Regular Registration Period: October 1, 2018 - October 26, 2018

Price includes: Seven (7) nights lodging in a shared room while in Brazil including hotel taxes and service charges, all ground transportation, in-country flights, breakfast and lunch each day, and access to International Coffee Week.
Price does not include: Dinners not included in itinerary, hotel incidentals, or flights and travel expenses to and from Brazil.


Attendees are responsible for reservation and payment of their own flight arrangements to Belo Horizonte Tancredo Neves International Airport (CNF) and from São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU).

Saturday, November 10
• Flight to origin (included) via small private charter aircraft
Wednesday, November 14
• Flight from origin (included) via commercial airline to São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU)
• Depart in the late evening from São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU)


When the SCA arranges for transportation, accommodations, or participation in other functions and events by the trip participants, once a reservation is made and payment is tendered by the participant for said reservation, should that trip participant elect to subsequently cancel his or her participation in the event, regardless of the amount of notice given, no refund will be given except at the discretion of the SCA or according to advertised refund policies. The SCA reserves the right to cancel any trip at any time before departure. In such event, all payments received will be refunded. In any event of cancellation, whether by the participant or the SCA, the SCA is not responsible for costs of losses associated with the purchase of non-refundable, advance purchase airline tickets, or any transportation and hotel costs outside of the SCA Origin Trip package.

This is required to be completed by October 26, 2018.

Visa Information: A VISA is required for US citizens to go as a visitor, whose stay will not exceed 90 days, and who hold a US passport. Brazil allows for US citizens to apply for the eVisa that is done all online. Visa fees are $40.00 for the visa and a $4.24 service fee. Required documents are a photo, passport bio page, and an address page. Processing time of the eVisa is five (5) business days.
