October 2017 SCAA Heritage eExams | (REGISTRATION CLOSES October 15)
Welcome to the written exams for the SCAA Heritage Pathway program. Exams for the new unified program will be available soon.
These written exams (called eExams) are administered online through SCA's testing platform. The online format allows participants all over the world to take the SCAA heritage knowledge exams when it is convenient for them in the comfort of their own home or business. The registration period is typically the first two weeks of the month and the testing period is typically the last two weeks of the month.
Currently the following exams are offered online: Barista Level 1 and 2, Roaster Level 1 and 2, Coffee Buyer Level 1, Coffee Taster Level 1 and 2; and Golden Cup Technician. You will select the exam you wish to take during the registration process.
Exams consist of multiple choice, fill in the blank, and matching type questions.
- Barista Level 1 & 2: 45 minutes
- Roaster Level 1: 90 minutes
- Roaster Level 2: 75 Minutes
- Coffee Buyer Level 1: 120 minutes
- Coffee Taster Level 1 & 2: 60 minutes
- Golden Cup Technician: 30 minutes
Exam Passing Scores:
- Barista Level 1: 82%
- Barista Level 2: 80%
- Roaster Level 1: 80%
- Roaster Level 2: 80%
- Coffee Buyer Level 1: 80%
- Coffee Taster Level 1 & 2: 80%
- Golden Cup Technician: 85%
October 15, 2017 (this is the last day to register for this exam testing period)
October 17-31, 2017 (you can take the exam at any time during these dates.)
Each testing attempt costs $95/$125. This applies to retakes as well.
