This class introduces basic and processing information to help enhance purchasing decisions and promote specialty coffee to consumers. Videos and diagrams are used to demystify processing methods and allow for competence in explaining washed, semi-washed and dry processes simply to others.

Instructor: Shawn Steiman. Shawn Steiman, Ph.D, is a coffee scientist, consultant, and entrepreneur. His company, Coffea Consulting, assists and educates coffee professionals on a variety of coffee issues, from seed to cup. Steiman regularly presents seminars, workshops, and tastings for both public and private events. He is also co-owner and Chief Science Officer of Daylight Mind Coffee Company. He has authored numerous articles in scientific journals, trade magazines, newsletters, and newspapers. He is the author and/or editor of 3 books on coffee.
