TRIP DESCRIPTION

On this Roasters Guild & Specialty Coffee Association Origin Trip to Yunnan, you will begin and end in Kunming, located in Yunnan Province in southwestern China. On this origin trip, you will learn about different aspects of the coffee supply chain and get a first hand look at the region responsible for 98% of China's coffee bean production. In addition to the farms, mills and cupping sessions, you will also enjoy a visit to an ancient Pu'er tea plantation and a tea ceremony.

We are sure that you will find this trip to be an exciting and educational getaway that you will be glad you attended. It will give you the opportunity to visit various coffee farms and experience the beauty of China in person. In addition, this trip will provide an opportunity for you to share experiences with fellow members on both a personal and professional level.

TRIP PRICING

Origin trip to Yunnan pricing is dependent upon membership type and the registration period. Your pricing will be automatically determined during the registration process based on your membership type.

IMPORTANT: If you are employed at a member company, you may be eligible for a complimentary individual membership that you can use to receive guild pricing. Read more about it here and contact membership@sca.coffee with any questions.

Early Bird Registration Period: October 17, 2018 - November 30, 2018
Regular Registration Period: December 1, 2018 - December 21, 2018

• Non-Member - Early Bird $1595 | Regular $1895

Price includes: Six (6) to seven (7) nights lodging (depending on travel arrangements) while in China including hotel taxes and service charges, all ground transportation, in-country flights, and meals (see exception below).
Price does not include: Dinner on Thursday, January 10 during free evening at the night market, hotel incidentals, additional beverages and snacks, and flights and travel expenses to and from China.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Attendees are responsible for reservation and payment of their own flight arrangements to and from
Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG).

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY

When the SCA arranges for transportation, accommodations, or participation in other functions and events by the trip participants, once a reservation is made and payment is tendered by the participant for said reservation, should that trip participant elect to subsequently cancel his or her participation in the event, regardless of the amount of notice given, no refund will be given except at the discretion of the SCA or according to advertised refund policies. The SCA reserves the right to cancel any trip at any time before departure. In such event, all payments received will be refunded. In any event of cancellation, whether by the participant or the SCA, the SCA is not responsible for costs of losses associated with the purchase of non-refundable, advance purchase airline tickets, or any transportation and hotel costs outside of the SCA Origin Trip package.

TRAVELER DOCUMENTATION

A link will be sent in your registration confirmation email to enter in all of your travel documents.
This is required to be completed by December 21, 2018.

Visa Information: Most visitors to China are required to obtain a visa. Each traveler is responsible for securing proper documents for travel and entry to the country. Please check requirements for your home country by contacting the Chinese embassy. Links to all the Chinese embassies can be found hereYou will file using category "M - Foreigners who intend to go to China for commercial and trade activities." Once you register for the tour, Yunnan International Coffee Exchange (YCE) will send you a letter of invitation from the event host and this will be attached to your Visa application. Please allow a minimum of 3-4 weeks or expedited service is available at an additional charge.
